Expectation of direct flight Vinh - Bangkok
(Baonghean) - Within the framework of the 2019 Investment Promotion Conference and the opening of the International Terminal at Vinh International Airport, the People's Committee of Nghe An province coordinated with Vietravel Tourism Company to open a direct flight from Vinh to Bangkok (Thailand). The first charter flight departed on February 23 by Vietjet Air.
This is a chartered tour with many interesting destinations to promote the potential of international tourism, while creating conditions to attract investment, tourism, develop socio-economy, and promote regional connectivity.
The Vinh - Bangkok direct flight will help tourists embark on a 5-day journey of exciting experiences in the "Land of Smiles" Thailand - an attractive destination. The opening of the Vinh - Bangkok flight is a commitment of Vietravel in the company's long-term development orientation, always closely linked to the development of the locality and the whole region to bring the highest benefits to customers.

Ms. Vo Thi Thu Hoai - Director of Vietravel Vinh branch said: Vinh - Bangkok flight route serves the needs of travel, tourism, visiting relatives, exchange and trade of people in the North Central region with Thailand, developing the economy and society.
This is also the first flight for Vietravel's plan to operate regular charter flights from Vinh International Airport in 2019. In order to successfully implement this new route, the company hopes that Nghe An province will support information to relevant departments, agencies and sectors to implement the plan and prepare well for the flight. At the same time, there will be coordination and facilitation for Vietravel to ensure 100% operational efficiency for this flight.
On the side of Vinh Airport Company, it was said: Currently, the construction of the international passenger terminal and installation of equipment to serve international flights at Vinh Airport have been completed.
The construction items are being accepted and submitted to the Civil Aviation Authority for licensing. At the same time, preparations for human resources, machinery, and equipment to serve international flight operations and put the terminal into operation are being urgently completed.

On the local government side, Nghe An province leaders pledged that the province would take action to make the first flight effective; assigned relevant agencies to prepare the necessary conditions for official operation on February 23, 2019 (January 19 of the lunar calendar).
The opening and effective exploitation of the Vinh - Bangkok flight route is an important premise for opening other flight routes, creating favorable conditions for attracting investment, tourism and socio-economic development of Nghe An province in particular and the North Central region in general; is a bridge between Uncle Ho's homeland and major cities and centers in the country and the region, playing a very important role in the development of Nghe An province and the region.
Currently, many projects are investing in Hemaraj Industrial Park, VSIP and without these routes, it will be very difficult for investors, as well as the need to develop tourism when passengers have to take connecting flights. Therefore, research to successfully organize flights and maintain them for a long time, moving towards opening regular flights rather than just stopping at charter flights is an important requirement.
