(Baonghean.vn) - Many rural areas in Nghe An are overloaded with household waste. Many spontaneous landfills have sprung up along roads and dykes.

The Lach Van fishing port area in Dien Ngoc commune (Dien Chau) is filled with garbage. Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of Dien Ngoc Commune People's Committee said: "Every year, we have a contract with Dien Chau Green Environment Company to collect garbage with a total cost of over 800 million VND. At the beginning of this year, the amount of garbage increased, the whole commune estimated that there were over 120 tons of all kinds of garbage, so the collection work is still not thorough." The landfill is located in Thanh Khai Commune (Thanh Chuong). Mr. Vo Trong Hoe - Chairman of Thanh Khai Commune People's Committee said: Due to the large amount of waste at the beginning of the year, the commune has directed the garbage collection teams of the hamlets to work at full capacity, quickly transporting the waste out of the residential area to the landfill and gradually processing it.
