Activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Border Guard's tradition day
(Baonghean.vn) - On February 26, Con Cuong, Nghia Dan and Anh Son districts had practical activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Border Guard Traditional Day (March 3, 1959 - March 3, 2019) and the 30th anniversary of People's Border Guard Day (March 3, 1989 - March 3, 2019).

Con Cuong mountainous district has more than 55 km of border with Laos, with 11 border markers; including 3 units stationed in the area: Chau Khe Border Post, Mon Son Border Post and 1 Training Battalion.
The border guards always strictly implement the Vietnam-Laos border agreement, the memorandum of understanding and the contents of the meetings between Nghe An and Bolikhamxay provinces, creating favorable conditions for the people of the two provinces to develop their economies. In recent times, this force has maintained good coordination with patrol forces, protecting border markers and borders.

In particular, border units in the area have also focused on patrolling, controlling and protecting security and safety in border areas. In 2018, two border posts organized patrols and controlled key locations in the area 176 times/611 officers and soldiers participated. Thereby, promptly grasping the security and order situation, social safety and fighting against all types of crimes, ensuring political security and border security.

At the ceremony, representatives of the Provincial Border Guard Command and leaders of Con Cuong district presented flowers and congratulatory banners to the border guard units in the area. The Vietnam Border Guard Command presented the "For Border Security and Sovereignty" medal to 4 individuals with many contributions and outstanding achievements in the work of the People's Border Guard and border security protection.

Here, the district leaders shared and encouraged the border guards to strive to overcome difficulties, successfully complete the task of protecting territorial sovereignty, maintaining political security and social order and safety in the border area. At the same time, they also emphasized that the Party Committee and people of Nghia Dan district will always pay attention to and support the movements, contributing to helping the unit successfully complete all tasks.
On this occasion, Nghia Dan district presented 100 million VND to Border Guard Station 515.
