"Fulfilling my dream. For my dad," Van Lam captioned the photo posted on his personal page. Currently, he trains and competes in Thailand and decided to give his parents a gift from afar by sending money back to buy a German SUV, the Volkswagen Tiguan.
The image of Mr. Dang Van Son smiling brightly, hugging his wife's shoulder received nearly 30,000 likes and more than 700 comments. Fans congratulated the Vietnamese goalkeeper and his parents. "Congratulations, your parents are proud of you," Hung Cuong Nguyen wrote. A fan named Thao Minh wrote: "Congratulations to you two on your new car. Congratulations to Lam on realizing his dream."

Dang Van Lam was born and raised in Russia. His father is dancer Dang Van Son and his mother is Jukova Olga, a Russian actress. He grew up at the Spartak Moscow and Dynamo Moscow training centers. In 2011, Van Lam left Russia to return to Vietnam to start a career. After 8 years, Van Lam asserted himself with the best 2018 season of his career when playing for Hai Phong. After that, the goalkeeper born in 1993 became the number one goalkeeper in front of the Vietnamese team's goal, winning the AFF Cup 2018 and reaching the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup 2019.
