There's nothing worse than a few pimples popping up when you're just days (or hours) away from an important event.

Sudden breakouts of acne are one of the few things we want to experience as we age. They usually occur in limited amounts and for short periods of time; usually due to a few late nights, poor diet or stress.
However, those small pimples still cause quite a bit of trouble. That's why you need to find quick but effective ways to deal with them immediately.
Follow this 4-step quick acne treatment and be ready to shine at any party.

1. Anti-inflammatory

Some types of pimples develop very slowly on your skin. For example, blisters take a long time to form. This causes the body to produce more oil; this causes redness and swelling, and allows infection to form.

If you have this type of pimple, don't pick at it! Instead, gently apply a benzoyl peroxide gel to the affected area a few times a day.

It will open up clogged pores without clogging the skin and reduce inflammation. In case you don’t have benzoyl peroxide; you can also substitute with formulas containing lactic acid or fruit acids (found in AHAs and apple cider vinegar).

2. Red, swollen pimples with white heads

Following the redness and swelling, the pimple is pushed higher; the white head appears and rises above the skin surface. In this form, they always urge you to squeeze and push the pimple out. However, the advice is not to touch them until the pimple core is dry. Instead of causing the pimple to become inflamed with bacteria and germs from your fingers; use effective antiseptic and anti-inflammatory products.

Salicylic acid and tea tree oil are the go-to products here, while zinc oxide soothes and heals the wound, while camphor oil can help relieve pain. For best results, use a cotton ball to apply them to the affected area a few times a day. If you need to go out, cover the pimple with an antiseptic concealer.

3. Acne

At this point, the best treatment is patience and diligence. First, apply a layer of antiseptic to the pimple. Then, use your fingers to press a tissue or cotton pad over the pimple and gently squeeze to release the pus. Next, wash the area and surrounding skin with an anti-inflammatory or antibacterial toner. This is best done in the evening, after a warm bath or facial steam to open up the pores.

4. Heal skin after acne extraction

Post-acne skin care is equally important. If not done properly, acne, blackheads, or inflammatory acne can reappear or even become much worse.

To minimize this, you should cleanse and moisturize your skin carefully about twice a day. For example, rosehip oil has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties, making it an ideal choice for post-acne skin.
