At the end of 2018, Hung Thi Niem went to China to do business, so she got to know some local people and they discussed finding Vietnamese women to bring over to sell.
To carry out his plan, Niem tried to make friends with girls in the mountains. Through social networking sites, Niem made friends with XTM (born in 2001, residing in Huu Kiem commune, Ky Son district). Niem invited M. to go to China to work with a salary of 10 million VND/month.
Thinking that the work was easy and the salary was high, M. agreed to go with him. Then, Niem contacted his sister to have Liem take M. to Mong Cai and illegally go to China. Once there, Niem sold M. to a local man to be his wife for 70,000 yuan (equivalent to 240 million VND). With the money, Niem gave M.'s family 20 million VND, gave Liem 10 million VND, and kept the rest for himself.
In December 2018, the Criminal Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police received a call for help from M. from China. Upon receiving the news, the unit coordinated with the Blue Dragon organization to successfully rescue this victim back to Vietnam.
On February 26, 2019, Niem had just returned to Vietnam when he was arrested by the police along with Liem. At the investigation agency, the two subjects confessed to all their crimes. Currently, the authorities have initiated a case and prosecuted the two subjects to investigate the crime of "Human trafficking".
