Former Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, General Yury Baluyevsky, considered the German Defense Minister's statement about the threat of Chinese missiles to Russia a "bad dream."

"It's interesting, why did the German defense minister suddenly show such concern? Or maybe she just had a bad dream. I believe that Chinese missiles in the near future will not pose a danger to Russia," Baluyevsky told Sputnik on Monday.

For his part, the editor-in-chief of the magazine "Arsenal otechestva", Mr. Viktor Murakhovsky, believes that such statements demonstrate the desire of NATO countries (in this case Germany), to put pressure on China through the Russian Federation, making Moscow startled by the "Chinese threat".

Mr. Murakhovsky noted that today China has the world's largest arsenal of medium-range missiles.

"The Chinese leadership has repeatedly made it clear that under no circumstances will they make concessions on this issue," the expert added.

According to him, from a technical point of view, Chinese missiles cover most of the territory of the Russian Federation, but they also reach the entire territory of Japan, South Korea and Guam Island (USA), similar to Russian intercontinental missiles covering the entire China.
