"Their football philosophies are exactly the same as my own football beliefs, and their coaching styles have broadened my perspective, allowing me to improve my own methods."

Ahead of the 2020 U23 Asian Cup qualifiers, fitness coach Willander Fonseca unexpectedly requested to step down from his role as coach alongside Park Hang-seo.

The reason he gave was that he was requesting leave to complete an intensive course in Cambodia.

Recently, fitness coach Willander Fonseca wrote a farewell letter on Facebook:"First, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the Vietnamese national team. This is the first time I've worked with a head coach of a different nationality, and it's particularly special because it's also the first time I've had the chance to work with a coach who has led a team to the World Cup and a coach who has played in the World Cup.

Their football philosophies are exactly the same as my own football beliefs, and their coaching styles have broadened my perspective, allowing me to improve my own methods.

I feel I lack the expertise to match yours, so I am grateful for the knowledge I gain from your diverse experiences and perspectives. I wish I could work here longer, but I really need to complete my A-level certificate course.

This certification will give me more respect and understanding to become a better coach. Unfortunately, there is a scheduling conflict. I understand that the Vietnamese national team cannot do without a fitness coach in such an important tournament, so although I am very disappointed because I wanted to stay, I understand that you want to find a replacement for my position to ensure the team performs well.

I wish you all good health and even greater success. And I also hope that one day we can meet again as partners or rivals in the same tournament. Good luck!
