On the morning of March 8, in Chau Ly commune, the Provincial Steering Committee for Population and Development, the Department of Health in coordination with the People's Committee of Quy Hop district organized the launching ceremony of the integrated communication campaign to provide reproductive health care/family planning services and improve population quality in 2019.
2019 is the second year that the whole sector has focused on implementing Resolution 21 of the Party Central Committee on Population Work in the New Situation. However, this is also the time when the province's population work is facing many difficulties, especially in the issue of reducing births and reducing the number of third and higher births.
Currently, Nghe An is a province with a large population, ranking 4th in the country, with a high population density, high birth rate (over 2.76 children) and continuing to increase, ranking in the top 7 provinces with the highest birth rate in the country. In particular, in 2018, the birth rate of the third child or more increased dramatically in most districts, cities and towns.

From this reality, the annual campaign is an activity of great significance. This is a peak occasion to focus on propaganda, mobilization, and support for the provision of reproductive health care and family planning services, contributing to the successful implementation of population and development planning targets.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Deputy Director of the Department of Health, on behalf of the Provincial Steering Committee for Population and Development, affirmed: In the current context, the implementation of the campaign does not simply focus on providing family planning contraceptive measures.
In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to the issue of service quality, ensuring service provision for women of childbearing age, potential adolescents/youths and the elderly to improve population quality.
