“That’s what drives us forward,” First Lady Melania Trump said as she joined Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in presenting the International Women of Courage Award to 10 women from Bangladesh, Djibouti, Egypt, Ireland, Jordan, Montenegro, Myanmar, Peru, Sri Lanka and Tanzania.

“Courage is what separates those who talk about change from those who actually act on it. Courage requires sacrifice, guts, and humility,” she said.

The International Women of Courage award has been presented by the U.S. Department of State since 2007. It has been presented to more than 120 women from 65 countries around the world.

At this year's awards ceremony, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo introduced First Lady Melania as "a woman of extraordinary ability and courage" who has repeatedly spoken out against human trafficking and sexual abuse of women and girls around the world.

“I know she will continue to be an influential figure, a powerful voice, who can inspire future generations of female leaders around the world,” he said./.
