Grand opening ceremony of Bach Ma Temple Festival 2019
(Baonghean.vn) - On March 14 (February 9, year of the Pig), Bach Ma Temple in Vo Liet Commune, Thanh Chuong District officially opened its festival, attracting a large number of locals and tourists from all over the country to attend.
Bach Ma Temple was built during the Le Dynasty, worshiping the famous general Phan Da - who had great contributions in the cause of repelling the Ming army to liberate the country in the 15th century, and was posthumously honored as "Do Thien Dai De Bach Ma Thuong Dang Phuc Than".

The temple consists of many structures such as the three-door gate, the ceremonial gate, the left and right wings, the lower, middle and upper halls with unique architecture, and is one of the four most beautiful and sacred temples in Nghe An - "First Con, second Qua, third Bach Ma, fourth Chieu Trung". The feudal dynasties of Vietnam listed the temple as an "international ritual" and granted more than 100 royal decrees. The temple was recognized by the State as a Historical, Cultural and Architectural Monument in 1994.

Bach Ma Temple Festival is held annually to commemorate and show gratitude to the great General Phan Da and his soldiers who contributed to the cause of fighting and saving the country. The festival also aims to preserve, maintain and promote traditional cultural values, demonstrate the morality of drinking water and remembering its source, and meet the spiritual and cultural needs of local people and tourists from all over the world.

This year's Bac Ma Temple Festival takes place over two days, March 14 and 15, with many exciting cultural, spiritual, artistic and sports activities, including the opening ceremony, proclamation, incense offering, great sacrifice, thanksgiving ceremony, volleyball and football competitions, poetry exchanges, folk games (chess, tug of war, pot smashing, cockfighting), exhibition and introduction of Thanh Chuong specialties, artistic performances, robotics competitions... in which the procession of the god around the commune, the elegant female student competition and the cu wrestling game are the highlights of the festival.
