Union bases implement Green Sunday
(Baonghean.vn) - Continuing the exciting activities in response to Youth Month 2019, on March 17, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union continued to direct the Youth Union bases to simultaneously launch Green Sunday in the second week of Youth Month.

During this Green Sunday, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee focused on directing the facilities to carry out the following contents: cleaning the campus, cleaning around medical stations, hospitals, medical examination and treatment facilities for the people; coordinating the planting of flowers, medicinal plants, and youth medicinal gardens.
In addition, continue to organize environmental cleaning campaigns, coordinate and implement activities to collect and treat black spots of waste, and clean up rural and urban environments.

As a result, in the morning, the union members and youth dredged more than 4 km of intra-field canals, collected 9 tons of waste, cleared 15 km of roads and planted nearly 1 km of youth flower streets.

On the same morning, Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station (Quynh Luu) coordinated with the Youth Union of Quynh Thuan commune to clean up the marine environment, clear bushes, and dredge the canal system.
During one session, 150 cadres, soldiers and union members and youth of the commune collected and processed more than 3 tons of garbage, cleaned 1.5 km of coastline; at the same time cleared bushes and dredged and cleared the canal system in Duc Long village with a total length of 800 m.

This is an annual activity of Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station in coordination with coastal localities of Quynh Luu district. Through these activities, it is aimed to promote the pioneering and voluntary role of union members, youths, officers and soldiers of the Border Guard in participating in environmental protection, keeping the beach green - clean - beautiful; contributing to strengthening the solidarity between the army and people to together carry out political tasks well, and build the locality to develop more and more.

During the second Green Sunday, the Standing Committee of Do Luong District Youth Union focused on directing the Youth Union bases to clean up the campus, clean around the commune health stations, and coordinate the planting of flowers, medicinal plants, and youth medicinal gardens.
In addition, the Youth Union units continued to organize environmental sanitation campaigns, coordinate and implement activities to collect and dredge canals, handle “black spots” of waste, clean up the rural environment, and plant flowers on self-managed Youth routes. The second Green Sunday campaign attracted over 2,000 union members and youths from across the district to participate.

On the same day,At Bac Yen Thanh High School, Yen Thanh District Youth Union organized the program "Union Day 2019"with 3 main activities including: Green dance contest; Choir pride contest and Contest of creating utensils and toys for teenagers and children from recycled materials.

As a result, for the Green Dance Contest, the first prize went to Bac Yen Thanh High School; the second prize went to Yen Thanh 3 High School; the third prize went to Phan Thuc Truc High School; and the consolation prize went to 3 units including the following schools: Vocational College, Nam Yen Thanh High School and Phan Dang Luu High School.
For the pride contest of the troupe choir, the first prize went to the Road 7 troupe cluster; the Western troupe cluster won the second prize; the Central troupe cluster won the third prize; 2 consolation prizes went to the Northern troupe cluster and the Road 33 troupe cluster.
At the Youth Creativity Contest, each unit of high schools and vocational colleges also brought impressive game models for teenagers and children using recycled materials, which were highly appreciated by the judges.
