The Kremlin has demonstrated its readiness to engage in military intervention to change power in Ukraine due to the intensification of the political struggle in the country ahead of the elections, experts from the Center for Military, Transition and Disarmament Studies (CACDS) said.

Ukrinform news agency said that military experts pointed to a significant deterioration of the geopolitical situation in Ukraine, which created opportunities for Russia to carry out extremely risky scenarios.

In Crimea, the Russian military plans to conduct military exercises involving 10 thousand artillery pieces and about 3 thousand units of missile weapons (the report "Crimea Realities" says), which could pose a real threat to Ukraine. In particular, the negative rhetoric of the Moscow-Washington Dialogue could turn into a transformation of Ukraine into a zone of dispute settlement between the Russian Federation and the United States.

As noted, during the exercise it is planned to launch missile complexes "Iskander-M", "Bal", "Bastion", missile launchers and barrel artillery systems. Training will also be held at 20 disposal sites - in the Astrakhan, Rostov, Volgograd, Krasnodar and Stavropol regions, in the North Caucasus, as well as on the territories of Russian military bases in Abkhazia, Armenia and South Ossetia.

Analyzing the situation at the international level, CACDS experts emphasize that many Western experts tend to believe that Ukraine needs more political support, and the United States and its closest European allies need to develop a Ukrainian Marshall Plan.
