This generation of players is also the core of the upcoming SEA Games. That tournament has a tight schedule and many losses. Therefore, Coach Park is very concerned.

"This tournament has many difficulties for me. The current U23 players have better physique than the U23 players playing in Changzhou, China, but in my personal opinion, their professional ability and playing experience are not as good," coach Park Hang-seo shared. "The U23 players who won the silver medal in China played more in the V-League. The current generation has less time on the field. I am worried because the players do not play regularly and their performance is not high, that is a big problem."

In the 2020 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers, Vietnam is in Group K. The team will meet Brunei (March 22), Indonesia (March 24) and Thailand (March 26). In the U23 team gathering in Hanoi to prepare for the tournament, coach Park Hang-seo only has six players who played in Changzhou, including goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung, defenders Tran Dinh Trong, Nguyen Thanh Chung, Doan Van Hau, midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai and striker Ha Duc Chinh.

"We have some national team players in the squad. But the gap between the main players and the reserve players is very large, which makes me worried. This generation is also the core of the upcoming SEA Games. That tournament has a tight schedule, and we lost a lot. Therefore, I am very worried when the gap between the players is large," said coach Park Hang-seo.

To prepare for the 2020 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers, Vietnam gathered on March 6. Coach Park Hang-seo said that this preparation time was not enough. He was also unhappy that during the training period, some Hanoi players had to take a few days off because they had to play in the AFC Cup.

"This tournament is difficult for me because of lack of preparation time. I am also not satisfied with VFF when some players have to return to their clubs to play AFC Cup. Such interruptions make it impossible for me to give the team the best training. In the future, I will be more determined with the Federation on this issue," coach Park Hang-seo.

The Korean coach also took the opportunity to propose to VFF about the preparation time for the SEA Games at the end of 2019. "I need five weeks to prepare for the SEA Games," Coach Park Hang-seo mentioned this issue four times.

Recently, the host Philippines sent out a notice that the men's football teams at the 29th SEA Games can bring two more players over the age of 22. Regarding this issue, Coach Park Hang-seo said he has not specifically targeted anyone for the two positions above. The Korean coach revealed that he will have to re-evaluate each position before deciding who to call. The most promising candidates for these two positions are currently Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong, Duy Manh, Van Lam...
