Sex symbol almost lost her life right after touching fame
“I almost lost my life when my childhood dreams came true,” actress “Mother of Dragons” Emilia Clarke said about her near-death experience from two brain hemorrhages. The incident happened right after the success of season 1 of “Game of Thrones”.
In fact, Emilia suffered two life-threatening brain aneurysms, which she underwent surgery for between films. Emilia kept all of these health problems a secret until now, many years later, and she is preparing to say goodbye to her role as the “Mother of Dragons” with part 8 coming out this April.
Emilia suffered her first brain aneurysm at age 24, shortly after she appeared on season 1 of “Game of Thrones.” While she was recovering from the first surgery, doctors discovered she had another aneurysm.
Emilia bravely faced and overcame those health problems. She also kept everything a secret from the media and the public, and now - for the first time - she shares everything to support the charity she just established - the Same You Fund - to help patients with brain diseases.

Now, eight years after Emilia first discovered she had a brain aneurysm, she calmly recalls everything: “When my childhood dreams were just beginning to come true, I almost lost my consciousness and even my life. I have never told this story publicly before, but now it is time to tell it.”
Emilia had just finished filming the first season of “Game of Thrones” when the signs of an aneurysm began to appear. When she learned of her condition, she was very scared and often had to reassure herself that this was not the end, she tried to stay awake by reciting her lines from “Game of Thrones”.
Emilia was only 24 years old at the time but had suffered her first brain hemorrhage and was at risk of a stroke that would cause lifelong disabilities, or even death: “At the worst, I even wanted to die, I begged the doctor to let me die. My job, my lifelong dream, revolved around language and communication skills. If I couldn’t do those things, I wouldn’t be myself anymore.”
After undergoing the first surgery, Emilia learned that she had another aneurysm in her brain. At that time, having just undergone the first surgery, Emilia still had to participate in promotional activities for season 1 of “Game of Thrones”, she went through photo shoots and interviews feeling as if she could die at any moment.
She tried to overcome it by taking high doses of painkillers. During the filming of the second part, Emilia had to overcome many health difficulties.
When she was about to start filming the third season, she had to undergo a second surgery to repair the remaining aneurysm in her brain. Emilia was hospitalized for a month, and at times she felt hopeless, panicked, and felt like she was just a ghost.
The actress of the movie “Me Before You” (2016) shared that she still feels miserable every time she remembers that dark period, at that time, she believed that she would die, and the story of an actress dying young would appear all over the newspapers.
At that time, some reporters and news outlets started to look into the story, but Emilia completely denied all information. Now, Emilia thought it was time to tell the whole story. After all, she felt that she was a lucky person to have survived the incident in good health.
Now, having completed her role in the series “Game of Thrones”, for her, it was a special experience, because finally, she was able to accompany the role to the end and see the character’s ending after her own personal events.
