Van Phan Parish organizes weekly adoration
(Baonghean.vn) - During the week of adoration, Van Phan parish welcomed Bishop Alphonso Nguyen Huu Long, Bishop of Vinh Diocese, to celebrate Mass.
On March 24, Van Phan Parish in Dien Van Commune, Dien Chau District held a culminating Mass of Adoration. This was also the beginning of the second 100-year cycle of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament of Van Phan Parish.
Attending the climax Mass were Bishop Phaolo Maria Cao Dinh Thuyen (former Bishop of Vinh Diocese), many guest priests and many parishioners inside and outside Van Phan parish.

The opening Mass began on the morning of March 22, and continued for three days. Through the sacraments, rituals and sermons, the parish reiterated the importance of the week of reparation on behalf of the entire diocese; calling on the parishioners to join in offering the Mass solemnly and reverently.
During the week of adoration, Van Phan parish welcomed Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long, Bishop of Vinh Diocese, to celebrate Mass on the morning of March 23. Here, Bishop Nguyen Huu Long administered the sacrament of Confirmation to 153 children of the parish and gave instructions to the parishioners of Van Phan parish to continue to cultivate their life of faith, join hands to build their homeland and country to become increasingly rich and developed.

Van Phan Parish belongs to Dong Thap Diocese, located in the coastal area of Dien Van Commune, Dien Chau District. Established in 1924, up to now, the parish has 3 sub-parishes (Van Phan, Phuc Thinh and Tan Van) with more than 3,100 parishioners, led by Priest Peter Khanh Nguyen Duy Khanh. Parishioners in the area mainly work in fishing and fishing logistics. In particular, the traditional fish sauce processing here has a brand name and is present in many localities across the country.
