Three women who fought with fish sauce and chili powder were sentenced
Suspecting Ms. Le of having an affair, three women gathered to strip her naked and pour fish sauce and chili on her, causing 6% damage to her health.
On the afternoon of March 25, at the first instance trial, the Thanh Hoa City People's Court sentenced Nguyen Thi Hoa (36 years old), Nguyen Thi Linh (27 years old) and Pham Thi Thuy Dung (28 years old) to 18 months, 15 months and 12 months of non-custodial reform, respectively. The court ordered the defendants to compensate the victim 30 million VND.

The verdict determined that on the evening of June 12, 2018, Hoa and Linh saw Ms. Le (29 years old, owner of a spa) getting her hair done on Cao Thang Street (Lam Son Ward, Thanh Hoa City). Both suspected Ms. Le of having an improper relationship with Hoa's brother-in-law (who is also Linh's uncle), so they waited to meet her to talk.
At this time, Thuy Dung called Linh and invited her to go out. Linh immediately told Dung to go to 79 Cao Thang and wait for work to be done before leaving. After that, Dung went to the place where Linh had agreed to meet and went to buy some water.
At around 8:30 p.m. the same day, Ms. Le came out of the store. Hoa ran over, cursing Giang for having an affair and stealing someone else's husband, while grabbing the victim's hair and dragging her into the middle of the street. Linh scratched Ms. Le's face, took off her pants, and tore her shirt. At the same time, Dung, who was returning from buying water, saw what was happening and ran over to wrestle with the victim.

After stripping the victim of her clothes, Hoa poured a can of fish sauce all over her. Linh then poured a bag of chili powder on her. After finishing, the three of them left her lying on the street.
Ms. Le was taken inside by the shampoo shop staff to wash off the dirt and then reported to the police. At the hospital, she was diagnosed with 6% health damage.
The court held that the defendants’ actions directly violated the honor, dignity, life, and health of others. The incident also caused disorder and had a negative impact on society, so the defendants were given a severe sentence.
