Russian beauty queen stripped of crown for “only living a life of pleasure”

The organizers of the Miss Moscow contest - one of Russia's major beauty pageants - have just announced the dethronement of beauty Alesia Semerenko from her 2018 crown. The reason given is that Alesia "disappeared to the Maldives with a diamond crown" while she announced that she was too sick to participate in activities with Russian army paratroopers. During the vacation, the beauty actively showed off hot photos on Instagram, showing no signs of fatigue.

According to the organizers, this is not the only time the beauty queen has called in sick. "She has been saying she is sick over and over again, it has been happening continuously for the past few months," said Svetlana Yagovitskaya - a representative of the organizers. "She calls in sick but has a vibrant social media life."

The director of the contest, Tatiana Andreeva-Falk, also spoke to the newspaper.Komsomolskaya Pravda: "The beauty queen has the mission of participating in many events during her reign, mostly charity activities. But Alesia did not attend any of them. It was very difficult to contact her".

When the organisers arrived at Alesia Semerenko's home, they found the gold-plated crown badly damaged. "We had a hard time getting the crown back from her. It was broken and needed to be repaired. It was an expensive crown made of silver plated with gold and precious stones. The diamonds had fallen out. We don't know what Alesia did to it, but it looked very pitiful," Tatiana said.

Alesia Semerenko won the Miss Moscow crown in December 2018, beating out 48 other contestants. The 24-year-old is an economics student living in St. Petersburg. She was a Top 20 finalist in the Miss Russia 2017 pageant.

The director of the contest revealed that from the beginning, the organizers realized that Alesia Semerenko "had nothing but beauty", but they still gave her the opportunity to participate: "She was absent from most of the rehearsals before the contest. We thought about whether we should eliminate Alesia but in the end we didn't do so because she was a beautiful girl. The judges chose her to become Miss".

Some sources say that when Alesia Semerenko was crowned, she vowed to "fight against the notion that beauty and intelligence do not go together".

Alesia Semerenko must now hand over her crown to first runner-up Ksenia Palenova. She denies all accusations from Miss Moscow organizers and claims she is the victim of revenge because the organizers did not want her to be crowned. Alesia also claims she did not break the crown and that the organizers refused to contact her via social media when her phone was broken.

"I can only say that someone is not happy with my victory," Alesia Semerenko said on Instagram. "Let Ksenia Palenova wear the crown instead of me. Maybe she won't break it. I deserve this victory and this moment will never be erased from the history of the pageant, no matter what they say and write."

Miss Moscow is a prestigious and long-standing beauty pageant for girls in southern Russia.
