Releasing 40,000 fish fry into Ban Ve hydroelectric lake

(Baonghean.vn) - During the ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Traditional Fishing Day, the Tuong Duong district government and Ban Ve Hydropower Company released 3 tons of fish fry into Ban Ve Lake.

On March 26, Ban Ve Hydropower Company and Tuong Duong District People's Committee jointly organized a ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Fisheries (April 1, 1959 - April 1, 2019). At the ceremony, nearly 3 tons of fish, equivalent to 40,000 fingerlings, including: carp, grass carp, bighead carp, silver carp, and tilapia were released into Ban Ve Hydropower Lake.

At the same time, through this activity, it will contribute to changing and raising people's awareness of the importance and value of natural resources, biodiversity and responsibility in protecting aquatic resources.

Speaking at the fish release ceremony, Mr. Kha Van Ot - Vice Chairman of Tuong Duong District People's Committee emphasized the role of fishing for local people. Although it is a mountainous district, Tuong Duong has more than 7,200 hectares of water surface, of which Ban Ve Hydropower Plant accounts for approximately 2/3 of the water surface area. The release of fish on this hydropower reservoir has great significance for economic development as well as environmental protection in the district.
