Female student is valedictorian of History and dreams of becoming a police officer

We had the opportunity to meet and talk with Ho Nguyen Nhu Ha, a female student who won first prize in the provincial History competition with a score of 17/20.

In class, Ho Nguyen Nhu Ha always speaks enthusiastically in class.

As Ha shared, she was attracted to and loved History because through the subject she learned about the traditions and origins of the nation and was able to reason and grasp the past, present and future of the country.

Seeing that his daughter loved and had a talent for this subject, Ha's father - also a teacher - recognized his daughter's love and encouraged her to pursue her passion. The valedictorian's father said: "Nhu Ha is very self-conscious in studying and has high determination, so I only guide her on how to allocate study time and think reasonably in each subject. Particularly for History, Ha showed interest and often discussed lessons and how to do exercises with me. Now, she has initially achieved her wish, I am very happy and proud."

I am attracted to and love History because through this subject I learn about the traditions and origins of the nation and can reason and grasp the past, present and future of the country.

Sharing about her learning method, Nhu Ha said: “People always think that learning History is memorization and mechanical learning, but in reality, this subject is not about dry events, milestones and numbers. This subject has a huge amount of knowledge, so when studying, you have to know how to summarize the main ideas, grasp the nature of the problem and deduce and develop it further. When studying, I often study firmly and grasp the knowledge in textbooks, in addition to collecting more documents, books, newspapers, and information channels on the internet to further consolidate my knowledge.”

Doing tests in class and at home diligently is also a way for Nhu Ha to do well in History. During the study process, she always concentrates to understand the knowledge deeply and constantly improves her ability to express herself logically.

As Ha thinks, history is very vivid and rich, not boring at all as many other students think. “In class, we often listen to the teacher tell stories about history in the country and around the world. After that, everyone gathers to discuss very enthusiastically. For me, every History lesson brings a feeling of excitement and attraction. Through the teacher's stories, I not only absorb knowledge effectively but can also think and connect events faster."

As Ha added: “To achieve the achievements I have today, in addition to my own efforts, I also received the teachings of many teachers, especially Ms. Hoang Thuy Anh, who gave me more "fire" for my love of History. Thanks to her guidance, I have acquired a lot of knowledge and found suitable learning methods, from which I love History even more."

Not only is Nhu Ha good at studying, she is also active in the school's youth union and movements. She always enthusiastically participates in cultural, artistic, sports and extracurricular activities.

Ms. Hoang Thuy Anh, a History teacher and also Nhu Ha's tutor for 4 years of middle school, said: "Nhu Ha is a very obedient, hard-working student and does well in all subjects, especially she never uses her phone. Her average score is always above 9.0, including an average of 9.4 in History. In addition to studying well in all subjects, she is also enthusiastic and very responsible for the work of the class. She is always the one who connects the members of the class to create a united group, working together to study."

Nhu Ha's dream in the future is to take the entrance exam to the People's Police University to become a People's Police officer. She knows this job is not simple, but she will be determined to pursue her dream./.
