The unique beauty of Tran Dang Dinh Palace
(Baonghean.vn) - Existing for hundreds of years, Tran Dang Dinh Palace in Phuc Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District (Nghe An) is one of the ancient structures with great historical and cultural value.

As the name of the palace suggests, the person worshiped in the palace is Mr. Tran Dang Dinh (1620 - 1691) - a general who had the merit of protecting the country, pacifying the people, suppressing rebellions, and establishing villages... in the 17th century. The palace was built in the late 17th century under the Le - Trinh dynasty and gradually completed afterwards, including many works such as: Tam Quan gate, worshiping hall, harem, stele house, palanquin house... In which, Tam Quan gate is the most massive work. The gate opens to the Southeast, built in the style of overlapping matches, two floors, below the rolling door, above the watchtower. The gate is decorated with vivid images of dragons, phoenixes, scrolls, patterns, birds, animals, plants... From the main gate, extending to the left and right sides are side doors and details with carved horses, elephants and two pillars. |

The 5-room worship house has an area of 116m2.2Built during the Nguyen Dynasty. The floor is paved with red square bricks, the frame is made of ironwood, and the roof is covered with fish-scale tiles. The house has 36 pillars, including 8 main pillars, 12 small pillars, 8 large pillars, 8 small pillars, built in the style of four pillars, upper beam, lower beam. |

The palanquin house is a unique matchbox-style structure made from four square columns. It is located between the main hall and the sanctuary and is used only for palanquin worship. |

Next to the palanquin house is the stele house. In the middle of the stele house is a large marble stele, engraved with Chinese characters and decorated with four-sided patterns. The forehead of the stele has a turtle shell and is decorated with dragons and moons. The borders around the stele face are carved with clouds and flowers. The stele was carved in the 15th year of the Le Chinh Hoa Dynasty (1695) with content about the life and achievements of Mr. Tran Dang Dinh and the worship ritual. |

Over hundreds of years of existence, Tran Dang Dinh Palace has been restored and embellished many times and was recognized by the State as a Historical and Cultural Relic in 1992. Currently, the palace is a place for spiritual and cultural activities of local people and a destination for tourists to visit and worship when visiting the rice fields. |
