(Baonghean.vn) - Hieu Market (Hoa Hieu Ward, Thai Hoa Town) is the gateway center of the Northwest region of Nghe An. The market serves goods for the districts of Quy Hop, Que Phong, Quy Chau... However, the market is in a state of disrepair, with a lot of garbage and a high risk of fire and explosion.
Hieu Market currently has more than 600 business households. In recent years, some items have been invested in upgrading, such as repairing the main and secondary communal houses, but due to lack of synchronous investment, they have seriously degraded. Photo: Van Truong
The use of electrical systems and electrical appliances at Hieu markets does not ensure fire safety. Businesses have messy electrical hookups, and old electrical wires run over flammable materials. Photo: Minh Thai

The walkways in the market are narrow, the small part of the road is occupied as a place to hang clothes, blocking the corridors, escape routes, and emergency exits, making it difficult for fire fighting. Photo: Van Truong

Mr. Pham Van Thach - Vice Chairman of Thai Hoa Town People's Committee said: Currently, Hieu market has degraded and is in dire need of investment in new construction to ensure environmental hygiene as well as limit the risk of fire and explosion. Photo: Van Truong
(Baonghean.vn) - Three days after the fire, some traders at Nghia Thuan market (Thai Hoa town) are still shocked that in just a few minutes, their entire kiosk and goods were burned down by the fire.
(Baonghean.vn) - Vinh market has a long history, is the largest wholesale market in Nghe An, there have been many fires here, causing heavy damage to the property of small traders... Each fire leaves them "empty-handed", facing debt.
