Greek Communist Party criticizes NATO exercises in Black Sea
The Greek Communist Party (KKE) considers NATO naval exercises in the Black Sea dangerous and anti-Russian in orientation and demands that the Greek military stop participating in them.
The holding of NATO's largest multinational naval exercise, Sea Shield-2019, in the Black Sea increases tensions in NATO's relations with Russia, the KKE told Sputnik.

The Greek Communist Party noted that, before the exercises, NATO countries were supposed to approve a "package" of assistance to Ukraine and Georgia.
KKE calls for intensifying the fight for the immediate return of Greek military personnel on duty abroad and for non-participation in NATO-like organizations, to prevent Greece from becoming a springboard for NATO and EU wars.
NATO's joint naval exercise Sea Shield-2019 began in the southwestern part of the Black Sea on April 8.
Ships and aircraft from the United States, Bulgaria, Greece, Canada, the Netherlands, Romania and Türkiye are taking part in the exercise, in coordination with representatives of the armed forces of Georgia and Ukraine.
