Taking advantage of the moment when the boyfriend's sister forgot to put away the money the groom's family had just brought to celebrate the wedding, the sister-in-law quickly stole it.

On April 13, the Investigation Police Agency of Go Quao District Police, Kien Giang Province, is detaining Nguyen Thi Anh Thu (36 years old, residing in Can Duoc District, Long An Province) for theft of property.

Subject Nguyen Thi Anh Thu.

At the police station, Thu confessed that on April 3, Thu and her lover (the younger brother of Ms. Le Thi Le) returned to her hometown to attend the wedding of Ms. Le's daughter (in Hamlet 2, Vinh Hoa Hung Nam Commune, Go Quao District).

During the ceremony, the groom's family gave Ms. Le 20 million VND in wedding gifts. After receiving the money, because the party was busy, Ms. Le forgot it at the ceremony table and went out to greet the guests.

Anh Thu discovered the money and became greedy, stole it and quickly put it in the trunk of her motorbike. After that, she drove to a nearby market, put the stolen money in a styrofoam box and returned to continue attending the funeral.

After the party, the host discovered that the money on the table had disappeared, so he reported it to the police. Through investigation, the police determined that the thief was Ms. Le's "fake" brother-in-law, so they arrested him and recovered the money to return to the owner.
