(Baonghean.vn) - According to the results of reviewing 3 types of forests, the area of ​​forestry land belonging to production forests increased by 33,992 hectares, helping people have more materials for production and improving their lives.

On the afternoon of April 16, the Provincial People's Committee held a working session with relevant units to listen to reports on the results of reviewing three types of forests. Attending the meeting were leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Forestry Sub-Department, the Forestry Planning Investigation Team, and leaders of the People's Committees of Tuong Duong, Quy Chau, Ky Son, and Con Cuong districts.

The total forestry land area according to the results of reviewing and adjusting the planning of 3 types of forests in 2019 decreased by nearly 4,000 hectares (currently 1,152,461 hectares).

Of which, the forestry land area belonging to protective forests according to the results of reviewing and adjusting the planning of 3 types of forests decreased by more than 36,000 hectares. The forestry land area belonging to special-use forests decreased by nearly 1,400 hectares. In particular, the forestry land area belonging to production forests increased by more than 33,992 hectares.

At the meeting, delegates basically agreed with the results of reviewing 3 types of forests, however, some delegates requested that it is necessary to review 3 types of forests for production forests and protection forests; add more production forest land area in Hua Na resettlement area, Thong Thu, Que Phong district and Dan Lai resettlement area (Con Cuong) so that people have conditions for production.

Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development highly appreciated the responsibility of the sectors, localities and the efforts of the consulting unit in the process of reviewing and adjusting the planning of 3 types of forests. At the same time, he acknowledged the opinions of the delegates and assigned the relevant sectors to promptly adjust and review to ensure that it is suitable to the socio-economic conditions of the province.

After completing the review results of the three types of forests, the Provincial People's Committee will seek opinions from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Provincial People's Council before May 30 and issue a decision for implementation.
