America admits its "brain" is inferior to Russia!
Americans admit that in great power rivalry, success depends more on brains than on brawn; this is the case with Russia, for example.
The US political arena is witnessing blows between the Democratic and Republican factions, notably accusations against President Donald Trump such as the investigation into collusion with Russia, the request to submit tax returns, the controversy over the plan to build a wall on the border with Mexico...
However, both Democrats and Republicans reject the idea of "great power competition", with Russia as a key target they aim at when looking at the world. But the situation is not as expected...
For example, in the case of Syria, since 2011, the US has been at war with Russia, and the end result has clearly not been in Washington's favor. The Washington Post argues that, to some extent, the firepower deployed by the US in and around Syria is - technically - superior to that of Russia.
However, Russia has not only succeeded in helping Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stay in power, but also enhanced its image, prestige and influence throughout the region.
According to the US newspaper, Russian President Vladimir Putin achieved the above achievements not because he deployed better weapons than those of the US in the Middle East, but because he demonstrated more outstanding political talent in this region, while applying wise foreign policy through a series of limited military moves.
