(Baonghean.vn) - Van - Bang intersection (the intersection between National Highway 1A and the road from Quynh Van to Quynh Bang, Quynh Luu district) is one of the places where serious traffic accidents often occur. It is necessary to study and install a traffic light system at this "black spot".
Talking about traffic accidents that occurred at the Van - Bang intersection, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, a resident nearby, said that she could not remember how many accidents there had been this year, let alone previous years.
Being the intersection between National Highway 1A and the road from Quynh Tan and Quynh Van communes to Quynh Bang and near the market area, thousands of people and vehicles pass by every day. Meanwhile, there is currently no traffic light system here, so accidents often occur.

A typical example is the accident that occurred at the end of September 2018, causing Mr. NVT (77 years old), residing in Hamlet 6, Quynh Van Commune, to die on the spot. At that time, a truck with license plate 37C - 288. 99 pulling a trailer 37R - 018.58 was traveling on National Highway 1A in the direction of Hanoi - Vinh. When reaching the Van - Bang intersection, it turned right onto Quynh Van and hit Mr. T who was riding a bicycle, causing Mr. T to die.
Previously, on June 12, 2017, a semi-trailer with license plate 29C - 318.59 pulling a container with license plate 29R - 008.50 traveling from Hanoi to Vinh, when reaching the Van - Bang intersection, crashed into Mr. Dau Duc T (born in 1964), residing in Hamlet 8, Quynh Van Commune, also causing Mr. T to die afterwards.

According to our observations, in addition to the fact that the traffic through Van - Bang intersection is quite crowded, the view here is also obstructed, especially the vehicles traveling from Quynh Van commune via National Highway 1A. Similarly, the view from Quynh Bang to National Highway 1A is obstructed on the left side due to many houses. Meanwhile, the vehicles traveling on National Highway 1A rush past because there are no speed bumps...
Every year, many traffic accidents occur here, killing 2-3 people, even 4-5 people in some years. People and authorities of Quynh Van commune have repeatedly made suggestions to the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee and relevant agencies to install a traffic light system at the Van - Bang intersection, but so far it has not been installed. To reduce traffic accidents, the People's Committee of the commune has installed 2 high-pressure lamps near this area, the purpose is to make it easier for people going to the market early in the morning to observe, avoiding traffic accidents.
"We hope that all levels and sectors will pay attention. If traffic warning lights cannot be installed, the management agency should build a roundabout so that vehicles will slow down when reaching the intersection, limiting traffic accidents," Mr. Le Van Ba, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Van commune, suggested.
