- Is this your first time as a film producer?

Yes, this is my first time as an individual investor in the film production industry. Perhaps, everyone will be a little surprised with my role this time. People often say that newcomers are often lucky, I also want to try to see if that saying applies to me.

- Why did you choose to invest in this new field? Do you want to enter the film business?

Vietnam's population is young and income is improving significantly every year, the demand for entertainment is huge. I think if you invest seriously in this field, you can absolutely earn a lot of money. As a businessman and investor, I have researched a lot about movies, so I see this as a very potential market. In the past, actors could not get rich because of their profession, but in the future, I think they can do it.

- Do you also love movies and acting?

I quite like research work, when I have free time at home I always analyze novels and movies. This is not my main job, I consider it a leisure activity. However, I still study very seriously.

- Can you reveal the amount you invested in the movie "Sister Sister"?

Just a few billion, really modest so I don't feel very 'impressive'. But I'm still very happy. It's been a long time since I felt like a newbie. Apart from financial potential, I have no experience or expertise which makes me feel very interestingly vague.

- Many people are curious if you will have a guest role in this new movie?

Many people have asked me about that. But I think it's not a good idea. The actors are very compatible with each other, and suddenly having another girl interrupt me is not a good idea. But I don't deny it, it's also an interesting thought. Hopefully, I won't disappoint everyone because of this.

- You received many compliments after "Negative" but you are not very interested in acting, why is that?

Up until now, I have only acted in one film. Actually, after that time, many people praised my acting. But perhaps, I do not like the feeling of living through many emotions, many lives. The life of an actor is rich in experience because they go through all kinds of roles, all kinds of lives. I just want my life to be as bland as possible.

I like looking at beautiful actors and often share their pictures on my personal page, so people have comments like that. But I simply like looking.

I also like movies and acting. If I liked it more, I would go to acting school and ask for roles, but I really don't like it that much.

- Is investing in producing a movie Mai Phuong Thuy's way of showing everyone how "rich" she is?

When I look up, I often feel sad, wondering when I will become a tycoon like Thao VJ. Is it because I am incompetent that the process of accumulating capital takes so long? Marrying a tycoon and becoming rich immediately is not my blessing. I have to try, and I really don't dare accept the word 'tycoon'. Whether movies are long-term or one-time, I really don't care. I usually leave everything to fate.

- What do you expect when you become a film investor? If successful, do you intend to continue investing in other suitable films?

I don't expect anything. Investing has taught me to be calm and objective. I don't contribute anything to the film other than finance, so if it succeeds, it's my luck, not my talent. I don't dare say whether I will stick with films in the future or not, for fear of not making it.

- Recently, Mai Phuong Thuy has been mentioned a lot after some sexy fashion photos. Do you intend to return to showbiz or is it just a hobby?

Before I could grow up, I became a beauty queen and had to live an exemplary life. Sometimes I wonder, if I had more freedom, what would I be like? Now there are many new beauty queens who are younger and more beautiful, if people could ignore me or turn a blind eye to me and let me build my own image, I would be very happy.

I also like to return to showbiz if I only have to do some side jobs that don't attract much attention.

All my controversies are more or less related to sexiness. Is it that I don't know or don't remember that I'm sexy and have to restrain myself? Or am I just inherently a tone off from society? I don't know how to answer this.

But being a beauty queen doesn't mean you can't be sexy? I don't think so. Being sexy is fine as long as it's not offensive. Normally I don't mind remembering, but if I forget, I have to apologize to everyone first. I'm the type of person who gets myself into trouble easily.
