(Baonghean.vn) - Russia may use military measures to intervene in Donbass (Southeastern Ukraine), if the newly elected President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy decides to dialogue with the militias of this region from a position of force. That is the statement of Ukrainian parliamentarian Evgeny Muraev.

Answering a journalist's question about the recent decree of President Vladimir Putin, allowing to simplify the issuance of Russian passports to residents of the two self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Luhansk in Donbass, Mr. Muraev noted that after 5 years, everyone who wanted to change their nationality has changed.

However, now, after the media spread this topic, in Mr. Muraev's opinion, even more Ukrainians with Russian citizenship will appear in Donbass.

MP Muraev stated: "At that time, Russia will probably use military force to protect its citizens if the new President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine decides to solve this problem by military means."

Previously, newly elected Ukrainian President Zelenskiy reacted to Moscow's decision to simplify the procedure for granting Russian passports to Ukrainians.

The former comedian suspects that not many Ukrainians would want to receive a Russian passport and advises Moscow not to waste time trying to “seduce” its Ukrainian compatriots./.
