Archaeologists have discovered a skeleton believed to be the remains of a mysterious Mayan queen deep in the Guatemalan jungle.

According to the information revealed, archaeologists discovered the skeleton in a hidden room in the archaeological site at Holmul.

The remains are believed to be those of a Mayan queen.

Inside a pyramid, archaeologist Francisco Estrada Belli discovered a burial chamber containing the skeleton of what is believed to be a Mayan queen. The skeleton dates back about 3,000 years.

“At the site we found a skeleton. It seemed to be in a fetal position, because the knees were against the chest. I could see parts of the skull, some leg bones and some ribs. From the shape of the pelvis it was clear that the skeleton was female,” Francisco Estrada Belli said.

Further excavations by archaeologists revealed a second burial chamber next door, which they hoped would also contain the skeleton of a king.

Despite being at least 1,500 years old, archaeologists discovered a vase with the inscription: "Here, be given your cup."

“This is a vase fit for a king,” said Mr. Belli.

In fact, finding the remains of both a king and queen from this era is extremely rare, and would help shed light on the mysterious Mayan civilization.

Currently, archaeologists are continuing to take necessary measures to determine the exact identity of the skeleton in the most convincing way.
