Tan Ky handles 11 officials and civil servants responsible for ensuring traffic safety and order
(Baonghean.vn) - In 2018, Tan Ky district handled 11 officials and civil servants related to the responsibility in clearing violations of traffic safety corridors, including the Chairman, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Chief of Police, and commune land officials.

According to the district's report, in 2017-2018 and the first 3 months of 2019, there were 32 traffic accidents in the district; of which 10 cases were prosecuted, 9 defendants.
Also through patrols and controls, the authorities discovered and handled administrative violations in 4,101 cases (under the jurisdiction of the District Police).
Violations are mainly caused by drivers not wearing helmets; not having a driver's license; using alcohol while driving; vehicles not ensuring technical safety... It is worth noting that traffic safety violators among minors are on the rise.

According to the People's Committee of Tan Ky district, there are currently a number of traffic black spots in the area where traffic collisions frequently occur. These are two points on Ho Chi Minh road intersecting with residential roads leading to the center of Nghia Binh commune and intersecting with the road leading to the district administrative center; Tam Dong crossroads; the intersection between National Highways 48E, 48B and Provincial Road 545. The locality has repeatedly requested the Department of Transport to install a traffic signal system, but so far it has not been implemented.

The clearance of violations of traffic safety corridors according to Resolution No. 56/2016 of the Provincial People's Council implemented in the area also has problems left over from history, that is, many cases of land granted to organizations and individuals located in traffic safety corridors. In addition, the authorities of some establishments have not taken drastic action.

At the meeting, based on a number of issues raised by the members of the monitoring delegation, the District People's Committee and the District Police also raised a number of difficulties in handling violators of the Road Traffic Law.

There are also issues of handling reports and denunciations of traffic safety violations; handling illegal vehicles, oversized and overloaded vehicles; problems in granting inland waterway traffic licenses...
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Head of the Legal Committee of the Provincial People's Council Thai Thi An Chung highly appreciated the leadership and direction of local Party committees and authorities regarding the work of ensuring traffic safety and handling administrative violations in traffic.
Traffic accidents in the area have decreased in all three criteria, especially no serious and extremely serious accidents. The locality has also drastically implemented measures to ensure traffic safety, especially the clearance of violations of traffic safety corridors; traffic accidents are promptly investigated and handled in accordance with legal regulations; administrative violations are handled in a strict and strict manner.

The Deputy Head of the Legal Committee of the Provincial People's Council requested the District People's Committee and the Police force to strengthen direction and coordination, enhance the responsibility of Party committees and authorities, especially those related to traffic safety work; attach exemplary roles to cadres, party members, civil servants and public employees in complying with traffic safety laws.
Besides, focus on propaganda work, raising awareness of compliance of people, especially people in remote areas, remote areas, and ethnic minority areas.
