Man fights back and kills his insolent nephew

Tuyen Quang Provincial Police decided to prosecute General Van Loi (35 years old, residing in Ham Yen district) for the crime.Killingaccording to Article 123 of the 2015 Penal Code.

According to the investigation, General Van An (29 years old) has lived with his grandfather and uncle, General Van Loi, in Ham Yen district since he was a child due to the early death of his parents. On the evening of April 4, An was out playing when he called his grandfather to inform him that when he returned, he would kill someone.

Receiving a phone call from his nephew who sounded drunk, the whole family rushed out to ask for help from relatives. At around 10pm that same day, An returned home and caused chaos. In a drunken rage, he took a cigarette and hit his uncle’s wife who was 8 months pregnant, causing her to fall to the floor.

An continued to be aggressive and attacked General Van Loi with his pipe. Having taken away the weapon, Loi hit An in the head, knocking him unconscious.

Four days later, An died and was buried by his family the same day. Realizing the unusual signs, Ham Yen District Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Department to exhume and conduct an autopsy.

The autopsy results showed that the victim was beaten to death, not fell to death as the family reported.

According to local authorities, An often drank and harassed his family members.
