General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong sent a congratulatory message to Ukrainian President-elect Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to the Ukrainian Election Commission, in the second round of the Ukrainian presidential election, candidate V. Zelensky won overwhelmingly with 73% of the votes compared to incumbent President Poroshenko who only won 25%.
The vote count showed that Mr. Zelensky was ahead in almost all regions of Ukraine, except the Lvov Region. In this region, Mr. Poroshenko received the support of 63.12% of voters while Mr. Zelensky only won 34.13%.
The Ukrainian Election Commission said that the voter turnout in the second round of the Ukrainian presidential election reached 62.07% and of the counted votes, about 2.32% were considered invalid./.
