Nghi Loc - Potential and development opportunities

In recent years, Nghi Loc has been promoting its advantages in infrastructure, natural conditions, and preferential mechanisms and policies to "roll out the red carpet" to welcome investors.

At the seminar "Orientation for Nghi Loc development to 2025, up to 2030" as part of a series of activities to celebrate the 550th anniversary of the district's founding, once again, the Standing Committee of Nghi Loc District Party Committee affirmed its high determination in the orientation of economic, social, defense and security development.
In particular, the district focuses on industry - construction for rapid growth, with many new products and services; developing agriculture in a concentrated direction, producing clean agricultural products and high economic value; currently, the whole district has 14/29 communes reaching the new rural finish line, in 2019, striving for 9 more communes and in 2020, striving for the remaining 6 communes to reach the new rural finish line. At the same time, Nghi Lam and Nghi Xuan are built into 2 model new rural communes.
In the development roadmap, Nghi Loc district determines that there must be a strong breakthrough, taking advantage of all opportunities and resources to achieve the goals; striving to build Quan Hanh urban area into a satellite urban area, the northern growth pole of Vinh city. Carrying out the construction of Cho Thuong town into a type V urban area, a commercial, cultural and economic center of the western region of the district. Developing market towns in Nghi Van, Nghi Phuong and Nghi Van communes to create momentum for the development of trade and services in the district.

In addition, promote the advantages of natural conditions and other resources of sub-regions to promote growth and economic restructuring. In particular, focus on agricultural production in the direction of specialization; produce clean agricultural products according to standards; link production with consumption, and process agricultural products to create high economic value chains. For sub-regions with advantages in land fund for developing industrial parks, marine and coastal tourism, the district will focus on developing clean vegetables; coastal tourism and aquaculture areas; expand industrial parks; attract investment to develop deep-water seaport clusters, high-end coastal tourist areas (FLC has surveyed 460 hectares in Nghi Tien).
In the development of transport infrastructure, in the coming time, the district will have more North-South expressways and coastal national highways, so it is necessary to focus resources on upgrading existing routes, especially QL48E, the route connecting Vinh - Nam Cam Industrial Park - Bai Lu (Duc Thiet), the expressway's feeder roads, connecting route N5 with the western communes of the district. Synchronously develop other essential infrastructures such as: electricity, water supply and drainage, postal services, telecommunications... other cultural and social infrastructure: to meet the socio-economic development and State management requirements in all fields... It is expected that by the end of the 2015-2020 term, Nghi Loc will have 26/30 targets achieved and exceeded the Resolution of the 28th Congress.

Nghi Loc aims to achieve an average economic growth rate of 12.5 - 13.5% per year in the 5-year period 2020 - 2025; Economic structure: Agriculture - forestry - fishery 9.65%, Industry - construction 63.63%; Trade - services 26.72%; Average added value per capita reaches 70 - 80 million VND/person/year.
Recently, Nghi Loc district successfully organized the ceremony to celebrate the 550th anniversary of the district's founding and the 125th anniversary of Nghi Loc with the participation of Party, State and provincial leaders, generals and a large number of cadres and people.
At the ceremony, the district's cadres and people reviewed the tradition, historical, cultural, revolutionary values, development achievements, and at the same time expressed their high determination in the cause of building and developing the socio-economy, towards 2025. The Standing Committee of the District Party Committee organized and launched special emulation movements to celebrate this event; encouraged the whole district to compete to achieve many achievements in implementing the State's legal targets, socio-economic targets, well implementing activities to ensure social security, gratitude activities; Encouraged cadres, party members and people to actively compete in studying, working, working, and completing the assigned tasks well.
With the sense of responsibility and determination of the entire political system, the series of commemorative activities were carried out as planned. The entire district has deployed and accelerated the progress of 9 cultural and welfare projects, 18 houses of gratitude with a total cost of more than 443.394 billion VND, of which 26.5 billion VND was from the socialized budget. 30 communes and towns deployed and basically completed 58 projects with a total cost of nearly 208 billion VND and at the same time put up signs of the projects to celebrate the 550th anniversary of the district's founding.

A series of events associated with the holiday such as cultural and artistic programs, performances of 9 new songs to celebrate the 550th anniversary of the district's establishment and awarding of "Nghi Loc 550 years of formation and development"; exhibition "Nghi Loc land and people"; organizing a seminar "Orientation for Nghi Loc development to 2025, up to 2030" especially the 550th anniversary of the district's establishment (1469-2019) and 125 years of the name Nghi Loc (1894-2019) took place on the evening of April 27 successfully, leaving a good impression on the majority of people.
In the coming time, the District People's Committee hopes to continue receiving the attention of the Central ministries, departments and branches; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and provincial departments, departments and branches so that Nghi Loc can soon complete the set socio-economic development goals.
