Detect and destroy a bomb with a 3km radius of destruction
(Baonghean.vn) - Captain Bui Xuan Thang - Head of the Bomb and Mine Division - Brigade 414 said that this is a 500 LBS bomb, with terrible destructive power, spreading in a radius of up to 3km.
At around 11:00 a.m. on May 10, 2019, the Military Command of Do Luong district coordinated with the Engineering Brigade 414 - Military Region 4 to salvage and destroy a bomb left over from the war, at the bomb disposal training ground in Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Chuong district.

Previously, at 5:00 p.m. on May 8, 2019, Mr. Bui Dang Thanh, a citizen of Hamlet 4, Van Son Commune, Do Luong, discovered a 1.2m long, 0.45m diameter bomb at the edge of a ditch in Hoi Tam Hamlet, Van Son Commune, 300m south of National Highway 7B.
The bomb was half submerged vertically in the water, with black letters on a dark painted background. The bomb's shell was still shiny, one side was dented.

After discovering the discovery, Mr. Bui Dang Thanh reported it to the People's Committee of Van Son Commune. The Commune Military Command and the Van Son Commune Police immediately went to the scene, assigned and mobilized militia forces to guard and put up signs prohibiting all citizens from approaching the area where the bomb was located.
