Becoming famous early, Huong Tram, Rocker Nguyen, and Hoai Lam suffered from severe stress because they faced many expectations from themselves, their families, and the audience.

In early May, singer Huong Tram announced that she would stop singing to study abroad in the US and start a new life. In addition to improving her skills, Huong Tram wants to have time to balance her life. She said that in recent years, she has faced many psychological and health problems.

Huong Tram is not the only artist who chose to leave showbiz to regain balance. Also born in 1995 like Huong Tram and a music star loved by young people, Hoai Lam announced that he would leave the stage for two years, starting at the end of 2018. In 2016, the singer's career slowed down after he publicly announced his relationship with artist Bao Quoc's niece. A year later, he performed less, sometimes canceling shows at the last minute due to poor health. At the peak, Hoai Lam canceled a show in Da Nang by Dam Vinh Hung - the person he once called "master".

Rocker Nguyen used to be one of the promising faces of Vietnamese showbiz with his handsome appearance, good singing voice and acting ability. However, in mid-2018, he surprised many people when he appeared with a skinny, lifeless figure and shocking statements on his personal page. Many comments on social networks said that the singer overdosed on stimulants, affecting his nerves. In August 2018, Rocker Nguyen moved to Australia and posted a letter instead of announcing his departure from showbiz: "This is the time for me to say goodbye. Goodbye to a past that will never return. Goodbye to the dreams that have been fulfilled as well as the mistakes...".

At the age of 20, Huong Tram, Hoai Lam, Rocker Nguyen... achieved many things when entering showbiz but in return they suffered great pressure.

In 2013, Huong Tram won the Voice of Vietnam and quickly became known to many audiences. But besides her success, she was involved in a series of scandals such as wearing inappropriate clothes leading to being banned from performing, having plastic surgery, and having conflicts with coach Thu Minh at The Voice. From a potential young face of the Vietnamese music industry, the 17-year-old girl became a "thorn" in the eyes of many people. She said that many fans wrote letters to scold her, expressing their disappointment.

Huong Tram said: "After the scandal at the age of 17, I was forced to choose between career and love. I suddenly broke up with my boyfriend while I was in the US and returned to Vietnam without saying a word to him. That sad story haunted me so much that for the past 5 years, I have not been able to love anyone completely."

The pressure when she first started her career caused her to suffer from mild depression, insomnia, stomach pain... The singer said that she always had several different types of sleeping pills in her room. Sometimes, they worked, sometimes, she was still awake after a night, her body was tired, her mood was irritable. But the responsibility of a star forced Huong Tram to meet people, continue working and smile every day. Whenever she was stressed, the singer often peeled her hands until they bled.

Torturing herself and forcing herself to work continuously made Huong Tram's health worse and worse. Before her first live show in her career, she suffered from an acute allergy, her whole body was covered in red rashes, forming large patches that caused sharp pain. Without time to rest, the singer still wore a turtleneck to cover the swelling and rushed into practicing for the show. Before the show to say goodbye to the Hanoi audience before going to study abroad, Huong Tram had a fever and lost her voice, and had to get injections to regain her form. She was forced to stop her career because she felt "half-dead".

Rocker Nguyen - the male lead of the Vietnamese version of "Glee" - lost 13 kg after a long period of depression.

Hoai Lam's decline and superficiality in his career were partly explained in 2017, when the singer admitted to using stimulants "to regain his emotions for music". However, according to Dam Vinh Hung, the halo came too suddenly afterFamiliar Faces 2014causing Hoai Lam to face many difficulties, even feeling lost and lonely in showbiz. Besides, the love story between him and his girlfriend Lu Hoang Bao Ngoc was initially opposed by his family and fans. Disappointed with his adopted son, Hoai Linh disowned Hoai Lam, and he also proactively separated from Dam Vinh Hung's company to work independently. That is the reason why the male singer often avoids the media and does not have many friends of the same sex.

As for Rocker Nguyen, the singer's former manager once revealed that he lost 13 kg due to depression and fatigue after the shock of breaking up with his girlfriend. In addition, he faced great pressure from his family because his parents forbade him from working in the entertainment industry, while he earnestly wanted to stick with his passion. In 2017, at a fan meeting of the singer, his father said that he was worried about his son's future and tried to closely monitor his activities.

Leaving showbiz is the way artists change their lifestyle, thinking, and improve themselves.

After announcing his retirement from singing, Hoai Lam found peace with his family. He did not share much about his personal life. His girlfriend focused on her business. At the end of February, Bao Ngoc put their house in District 7 up for sale to move to a more spacious space. She also frequently shared pictures of the two going out and watching movies together. His girlfriend also affirmed that he needed more time to rest and improve his skills, not to stop his career completely. "Only Mr. Lam knows clearly where he is having trouble, what is going on, and when he can recharge his energy," she said.

Starting a new life in Australia, Rocker Nguyen gradually regained his balance. The pictures he shared on his personal page also showed that he had regained his appearance and confidence.

As for Huong Tram, her stop is also to prepare for a longer-term commitment to music. "Studying abroad has been a dream I have cherished since I was a child. I want to temporarily leave singing to heal my mental wounds and also have time to improve my professional skills." Huong Tram believes that when she returns, she will contribute to the audience with a more enthusiastic and vibrant spirit than she does now.
