The driver of the car that crashed into an electric motorbike in Vinh City had a high blood alcohol level.

(Baonghean.vn) - During the initial investigation, the Vinh City Police determined that the driver of the car involved in the accident was Nguyen Xuan Hung (born in 1979, residing in Block 13, Cua Nam Ward, Vinh City).

On May 17th, the Vinh City Police are still investigating the cause of the traffic accident that occurred on the evening of May 15th at the intersection of Le Hong Phong and Nguyen Duc Canh streets in Hung Binh ward, Vinh City.

According to information from the Vinh City Police, the driver of the car involved in the accident was Nguyen Xuan Hung (born in 1979, residing in Block 13, Cua Nam Ward, Vinh City).

The two injured students are Nguyen Van Hiep and Nguyen Duc Anh, both born in 2002 and residing in Nghi Xuan commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province. Their health is now gradually stabilizing. One student suffered a fractured femur, and the other sustained facial injuries.

Initially, the police determined that driver Hung had violated traffic safety regulations by operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. After taking his statement and examining the scene, driver Hung was released pending the results of the investigation.

The car with license plate 37S - 8739 is a 2009 Toyota Yaris, registered in the name of Hoang Thanh Phong (born 1973, residing in Ha Huy Tap Ward, Vinh City, Nghe An Province). The vehicle was last inspected on November 22, 2018, with a validity period until November 21, 2019. The car is currently being held at the Traffic Police Team of Vinh City Police Department.

Earlier, at around 10:30 PM on May 15th, an accident occurred at the intersection of Le Hong Phong and Nguyen Duc Canh streets in Hung Binh ward (Vinh City), resulting in serious injuries to two students.

Accordingly, a car with license plate 37S - 8739, traveling at high speed from the Department of Transportation towards Minh Khai Street, collided with an electric motorbike carrying two people (of school age).

The powerful collision sent both people on the electric motorbike flying into the front windshield of the car, then scattering them in opposite directions. At the scene, both vehicles were severely damaged, with the electric motorbike completely wrecked and the entire front windshield of the car shattered.

The case is currently being investigated by the Vinh City Police.
