Prosecution of the subject who used a knife to stab a drinking friend in the stomach
(Baonghean.vn) - After drinking, Nguyen Van Viet and Nguyen Van Tam, residents of Nghi Loc district (Nghe An), had an argument. Despite being stopped by everyone, Viet still used a knife to stab his drinking friend in the stomach.
On the morning of May 21, the Investigation Police Agency (Nghi Loc District Police) announced that the unit had just initiated a case, prosecuted the accused and issued a 3-month detention order for Nguyen Van Viet (born in 1973), residing in Hamlet 1, Nghi Cong Bac Commune, Nghi Loc District, to investigate and clarify the act of intentionally causing injury.
Previously, on the evening of May 11, Mr. Doan Van Trung in Hamlet 1, Nghi Cong Bac Commune, organized a party to receive money from the ward. Among the guests were Mr. Nguyen Van Viet and Mr. Nguyen Van Tam, who live in the same hamlet. While toasting each other, the two exchanged words, leading to a fight. Seeing this, everyone intervened and took the two men home to rest.

Because he was already drunk, Viet still felt angry. He immediately took a knife to Mr. Tam's house to continue resolving the conflict. When he entered the yard, he heard Mr. Tam sitting inside talking to everyone about him, making Viet even angrier and speaking up.
When Mr. Tam went out into the yard, Viet stabbed him in the stomach with a knife and had to be taken to Nghe An General Hospital for emergency treatment. Nguyen Van Viet was arrested by the authorities shortly thereafter.
Through examination, Mr. Tam suffered 28% physical injuries. Nguyen Van Viet was prosecuted under Clause 2, Article 134 of the 2015 Penal Code. The case is still being investigated.
