Village boy stabs man to death while visiting his lover at midnight
(Baonghean.vn) - Although he had a wife and two children, Mr. Nguyen Van Tr (residing in Quynh Luu, Nghe An) still secretly visited his lover and his stepchild every day. During one visit to his lover, Mr. Tr. was attacked by a village boy and stabbed to death.
After 7 days of deliberation, on May 28, the People's Court of Nghe An province sentenced defendant Tran Hoai Nam (born 1991), residing in Quynh Long commune, Quynh Luu, for the crime of "Murder" and defendant Duong Van Linh (born 1988), residing in Quynh Thuan commune, Quynh Luu, for the crime of "Disturbing public order".

According to the testimony of the defendant and related people, on December 5, 2018, Linh and Nam went drinking with Tran Dinh Tung (born 1979), residing in Quynh Long commune, Quynh Luu. Here, seeing that Nam liked his folding knife, Tung gave it to Tran Hoai Nam.
After a few glasses of wine, Tung confided in his brothers. This morning, when he went to visit Ms. Tran Thi Tuyet (born in 1987), residing in Quynh Thuan commune, Quynh Luu, he was chased away by Mr. Nguyen Van Tr (born in 1987), residing in Quynh Hong commune, Quynh Luu, making Tung very angry.
Knowing that Mr. Tr often visited Ms. Tuyet, at around 10:00 p.m. on December 6, 2018, Nam, Linh, Mr. Tran Dinh Tung and Tran Ba Lam (Tung's son) went to Ms. Tuyet's house to talk. While Tran Dinh Tung and Lam were standing outside the door, Nam and Linh entered Ms. Tuyet's house to ask for the truth.
Seeing Tuyet sitting and talking with Mr. Tr on the bed, Nam immediately rushed in and slapped Mr. Tr on the head, the two of them fought. At this time, Linh rushed from behind and pushed Mr. Tr against the wall and used his hands to strangle Mr. Tr.
With the help of his friend, Tran Hoai Nam stepped back and pulled out the folding knife that Tung had given him earlier. At this time, Mr. Tr managed to get up and push Nam onto the bed to run outside, but Nam used a knife to stab him once in the left chest, causing Mr. Tr to fall to the floor.
Seeing Mr. Tr fall down with blood on his chest, Duong Van Linh immediately asked: "Why is Mr. Tr bleeding?". Nam only had time to say: "I stabbed him", then the two of them together took Mr. Tr to the hospital. However, due to the seriousness of the injury, the victim died on the way to the emergency room.
At today’s trial, both the victim’s first wife and lover were invited. The two women, one a witness, the other a relative of the victim, did not say a word to each other. Knowing the situation, her husband was stabbed while staying at another woman’s house, Mr. Tr’s wife could only remain silent, only hoping to receive a reasonable amount of compensation so that she could have enough to raise her children and take care of her mother-in-law.
The panel of judges determined: This is an extremely dangerous act for society and needs to be severely punished. Considering the aggravating and mitigating circumstances, the panel of judges decided to sentence Tran Hoai Nam to 16 years in prison for “Murder” and to compensate the victim 179 million VND, and Duong Van Linh to 12 months in prison for “Disturbing public order”.
