Lightning kills 3 buffaloes after rain in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - At the same time, 5 buffaloes in 3 districts of Do Luong, Thanh Chuong and Tan Ky were struck by lightning during heavy rain after days of peak heat, of which 3 died.
*At noon on May 21, after a heavy thunderstorm, people in hamlet 6B,Nghia Dong commune, Tan Ky district,discovered a buffalo struck dead by lightning, lying in the middle of the field. Next to it, 2 calves about 1 year old were also struck by lightning and injured but luckily escaped death.
This is considered a cooling rain after hot days of over 40 degrees Celsius in Nghe An.
The buffalo that was struck dead by lightning was identified as belonging to Mr. Phan Dang Luyen's family, residing in Hamlet 6B, and was worth about 35 million VND. The two calves belonged to Mr. Luyen's neighbor.

Before the rain, lightning struck and killed the buffalo of Mr. Nguyen Quang Doan's family in Hoa Phu hamlet. This was a female buffalo about to give birth, worth over 25 million VND. Currently, Mr. Doan's family has also butchered it to sell to households in the hamlet.

Mr. Tran Van Trong - Chief of Thanh Tung Commune Police said that the buffalo struck dead by lightning was confirmed to belong to the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan, residing in Con Song hamlet.
The buffalo was then bought by a trader to be slaughtered for 15 million VND.
