At around 4:15 p.m. on May 22, the unfortunate man who fell into the abyss was Mr. Hoa Van Tam (born in 1974) in Ta Do village, Muong Tip commune, Ky Son district.

Accordingly, while the people and the authorities were organizing the destruction of the pigs, they heard shouts nearby "someone fell into the abyss". Soldiers from Muong Ai Border Guard Station and many people promptly reached the scene, and the rescue team had to mobilize many people to bring the victim up from the abyss.

In the rescue team, there was Senior Lieutenant Tran Thanh Vinh, a military doctor from Muong Ai Border Guard Station who was reinforcing the medical station in Muong Tip commune. Vinh promptly provided first aid to Mr. Tam.

It is known that Mr. Hoa Van Tam often has sudden epileptic seizures. When the incident happened, Mr. Tam was taking his family's sick pigs to be destroyed when he had an epileptic seizure and fell freely into the abyss.

The victim is currently being treated at the Muong Tip commune medical station, Ky Son district.
