Nghi Loc Parish opens peak week of adoration

(Baonghean.vn) - This is a parish known for its tradition of celebrating major holidays of the Catholic Church in the most solemn manner.

On May 24, Nghi Loc Parish, Dien Hanh Commune, Dien Chau District solemnly held the opening ceremony of the Eucharistic Adoration Week.

Attending the ceremony were Bishop of Vinh Diocese Alphonso Nguyen Huu Long, many invited priests and many parishioners inside and outside Nghi Loc Parish.

According to the program, the adoration week will take place continuously for 3 days, the closing mass will take place on the morning of May 26, 2019.

At the opening mass, through the sacraments, rituals and sermons, the parish reiterated the importance of the adoration week; calling on the parishioners to join in offering the Mass solemnly and reverently.

At the same time, in the sacred and solemn atmosphere of the Adoration Week, Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long performed the sacrament of Confirmation for the children in the parish with the hope that this will be the next generation to build the church in general and the parish in particular to grow and become stronger.

50 km north of Vinh Diocese, Nghi Loc Parish, Dong Thap Diocese, was established on July 10, 1929 with more than 2,700 parishioners, currently led by priest Giuse Nguyen Van Chinh.

This parish is known for its tradition of celebrating major Catholic holidays in the most solemn manner, especially Christmas, attracting a large number of people in the area and neighboring areas to attend.
