Arresting the mother of the chicken delivery girl who was raped and murdered in Dien Bien
Police identified Ms. Hien as an important link in a large drug trafficking ring in Dien Bien.
On May 25, Dien Bien Provincial Police announced that they had just prosecuted and temporarily detained Ms. Tran Thi Hien (44 years old, residing in Dien Bien district) to clarify the act of illegal drug trafficking. Ms. Hien is the mother of a young chicken delivery girl who was raped and murdered in Dien Bien earlier this year.
"Ms. Hien is an important link in the illegal drug trafficking ring in Dien Bien province. There is currently no basis to determine that she is related to her daughter's death," said the provincial police leader.

The case of kidnapping, raping and murdering a young girl who was delivering chicken on the afternoon of the 30th of Tet in Dien Bien caused a stir. The investigation results determined that Vi Van Toan told the group that the girl's mother owed him money, so he asked him to kidnap her and keep her for a few days to pressure her to pay. Toan promised to pay her in full in money and drugs, so the group agreed.
After planning, the group kidnapped and raped the victim. That same afternoon, seeing that the female student's health was getting worse, the group tried to cover up the clues and disposed of the victim's body in an abandoned house...
Police have now prosecuted nine suspects to investigate this case.
