Rada MP: Ukrainian people 'hard to survive' when Mr. Zelensky devalues currency
The country's people are impoverished and will hardly survive if Kiev declares currency devaluation in the near future, said the deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada, Vadim Rabinovich.
The MP commented on the recent statement of oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, who proposed to President Vladimir Zelensky to declare devaluation of the currency in order to avoid paying debts to the IMF.
"The IMF cannot be a partner of Ukraine because it is a financial doctor. This financial doctor has been treating us for four and a half years. As a result, we have completely killed the economy, we are in a hopeless debt pit, which means this is a fake doctor," - said Mr. Rabinovich.
He expressed his opinion that Kiev should wait a bit and not immediately declare devaluation, because the first victims would be ordinary Ukrainians.
"I think that the price of the hryvnia will be 200 to the dollar. I think that the country's population will be completely impoverished, and then we will start growing from zero. But who will survive from this zero?" – he concluded.
