This season, Nam Dan registered to participate in both the Youth (TN) and Children (NĐ) teams. However, due to being somewhat passive, the TN team's gathering was slower than that of the districts, so they only determined the goal of competition. Meanwhile, the NĐ team was well prepared early, so the district coaching staff and players strived to reach the semi-finals.
In May, Nam Dan district was quite busy with the organization of the 2019 Sen Village Festival, so the original plan was for the Youth Football Team to participate in the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament. Recently, the District People's Committee directed the Department of Culture to select more Youth Football Teams to participate in the tournament.
Currently, the selection and gathering work is being urgently carried out and will start training from today (May 30). Team ND was in the plan to participate from the beginning, so the selection has been completed and is in the process of urgent training.
“The ND team has the advantage of having its core force selected from the gifted football class organized by Song Lam Nghe An Club in the area. The children have been training together for quite a long time, being trained in techniques and tactics and physical training, which will certainly create a bond in competition.”

Actively train troops
In recent years, Nam Dan football has been quite prominent when participating in the Nghe An Newspaper Cup TN-ND tournament. Almost every year, there are teams that reach the quarterfinals, with the ND team winning the championship in 2015.
In 2018, both TN and ND teams reached the quarterfinals, but due to the unstable mentality of the players when facing strong opponents, they had to accept defeat. Participating in this year's tournament, TN team determined that the main goal was to compete and learn the competitive spirit. Meanwhile, ND team is determined to reach the semi-finals, if there is a chance, they will go further.

The summer afternoons were quite hot, but the players of ND Nam Dan were present at the training ground early, Coach Tran Dinh Viet soon deployed the children to practice. Most of the players were selected from the gifted football class, received basic training so the technical movements such as juggling, dribbling and kicking the ball always reached a fairly smooth level.
The squad has outstanding players with good physical strength and technique, who will be the pillars for the matches such as Tran Cong The Bao (center), Pham Van Dat (defender), Nguyen Quang Linh (defender) and Tran Duc Loc (striker). In particular, Tran Cong The Bao is the hope of the whole team with a playing style that focuses on technique and speed, and has trained at Song Lam Nghe An Club.

Witnessing the training session, we noticed that both the coach and the players of the ND Nam Dan team focused on investing in the coordination between the lines and the understanding between the center forward and the striker in the attacks. Along with that, strengthening the defense, the goalkeeper's quick reflexes and good judgment. At the same time, to reach the semi-finals, it is impossible not to pay attention to investing in practicing penalty kicks to gain an advantage over the opponent.
“The team’s biggest weakness is that our physique and physical strength are not uniform, so we will have difficulty against strong opponents. Therefore, we must determine to promote our strengths in the ability to coordinate between lines and positions as well as the technique, dexterity and intelligence of each player.”
Accompanying all levels and parents
Nam Dan is one of the localities that is prioritized to build a synchronous system of cultural - information and sports institutions, so the training of young players is very convenient. Both the TN and ND teams practice on artificial turf, the size and surface of the field meet competition standards, and the requirements for facilities are also prepared at the best level.

Another favorable factor is the support and companionship of parents. Parents all support the participation of young players in training and competition, arranging their time and work every day to pick up and drop off their children to the training ground. There are children living in Nam Trung and Nam Cuong communes, 20 km from the district center, who are still picked up and dropped off by their parents every day.
