The 9M729 missile is an upgraded version of the 9M728 missile, part of the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system. A source from Western intelligence agencies reported that the Russian military possesses more than 60 9M729 cruise missiles, which led the US to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF).
