106 outstanding works will be honored at the National Press Awards Ceremony

The 13th National Press Awards Ceremony 2018 will be held on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21) this year.

On the afternoon of June 1, the 2018 National Press Awards Final Jury selected 106/147 outstanding works to award prizes. Including: 7 A prizes, 23 B prizes, 42 C prizes and 34 Encouragement prizes.

These are typical works in terms of content and form, and have the ability to orient public opinion.

Many works have shown good social impact, have been accepted and resolved by authorities, and public opinion has highly appreciated the role of the press in discovering, criticizing, fighting, criticizing, praising and building.

All works meet the selection criteria according to the "Selection Guidelines" of the Award Council such as: closely following the political tasks of the country, the industry, and the locality, promptly and deeply reflecting the actual situation, having the nature of discovery, practically serving the cause of innovation, the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland; truthfully reflecting the political, economic, cultural, social, national defense, security, and foreign affairs life of the country, the implementation of the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress, the Resolutions and Directives of the Party and the State in 2018 - with many major political events of the country; encouraging journalistic works about advanced models, new factors, criticizing and opposing negative behaviors, corruption, and wrong views of hostile forces; accurately and promptly informing about important international events.

The Final Judging process is carried out in accordance with the Award regulations and the rules of the Award Council.

This year is also the first time the Award Council has established an Evaluation Board to objectively and independently review the finalist works, in order to provide additional assessments and analysis from experts, and in-depth professional advice to the Finalist Council.

This year's competition has more than 120 association-level units and 222 collaborators, competing in 11 categories of awards according to regulations; including 57 units of the Inter-Association and affiliated Associations. This is the second consecutive year that all 63 provincial and municipal Journalists Associations have participated.

The 13th National Press Awards Ceremony 2018 will be held on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21) this year.
