5 candidates violated the rules on the first day of the exam
(Baonghean.vn) - For the second year, Nghe An has introduced a combined test in the 10th grade entrance exam with 3 subjects: History, Chemistry and English. According to the assessment, the test is highly classified.
The questions are closely related to the textbook program.
At 3:00 p.m., candidates took the second exam - a combination exam in the form of multiple choice questions, with a duration of 90 minutes.
This year is the second year Nghe An has included a combination subject in the 10th grade entrance exam. The combination test has 3 components: History, Chemistry and English. Of which, English has 20 questions, History has 15 questions and Chemistry has 15 questions.

Ms. Tran Thi Ha, a Chemistry teacher at Ly Nhat Quang Secondary School, Do Luong District, said: After reading the test, I felt quite relieved and confident that the students would do well. The test was at a basic level, close to the previously issued test structure, including 12 theoretical questions and 3 calculation questions (quantitative part). The test was mainly content from the textbook program. The theoretical questions were quite easy, including questions about chemical changes and determining the properties of metals.
Besides, there are many questions about practical knowledge such as which region in Vietnam has large oil reserves, applications of chlorine gas, which solution turns litmus red...
However, the test also has questions that make students confused. For example, the question of which substance is decomposed by heat. In this test, the answer requires students to choose the answer that the substance decomposes with a basic oxide. But the answer section gives 4 options, including one answer about the heat of decomposition but does not form a basic oxide. If students do not read the test carefully, they can easily make mistakes.
Similarly, there is a question about which series of substances are decomposed by heat. If students do not have a good grasp of the substances, they will choose the wrong option, the substance that is not decomposed by heat. Students are also likely to make mistakes in the calculation stage (quantitative part). The reason is that many students have limited calculation skills, and the calculation part has not been practiced much, so in a short time, they may make mistakes.

Regarding the English exam, Ms. Phan Thi Hong Van, a teacher at Le Mao Secondary School, Vinh City, said: The exam is close to the students' knowledge, similar to the sample exam of the Department of Education and Training and easier than the mock exam. In which, candidates can easily get points for grammar, communication questions, and phonetic reading comprehension. However, the reading comprehension part is a bit difficult and requires candidates to have a wide vocabulary, especially the second reading comprehension about the British researcher. I think that with this exam, it is not difficult for good students to get full marks. As for students with average learning ability, they can get average marks.

Teacher Ho Bao Trung, Nghia Hoi Secondary School, Nghia Dan District, said: The History subject has exam questions that are suitable for students. The advantage is that the Department of Education and Training has previously provided sample exams, which include detailed and specific instructions and the number of questions for each historical period.
The official exam closely follows the sample exam so there will be no surprises for students because they have been thoroughly reviewed. There are questions that are very easy for students to score points, but there are also difficult questions with high differentiation focusing on international relations with many confusing answers. Students with good academic ability can do 80-90%.
Good and excellent students can achieve 8 points or more.

After 90 minutes of doing the test, the candidates' responses to the combined test were different.
For candidates in Vinh city, the test is not too difficult.
At the exam site of Ha Huy Tap High School, candidate Le Thi Hong Minh, Doi Cung Secondary School, one of the candidates who did well on the combined exam, said: This year's exam was quite close to what the teachers had reviewed for us. For the combined exam, I did about 80%. For English, the questions were divided into levels from recognition to high application. Because the exam was given to all students in the province, it was not difficult, almost all students at an average level could do it. The History subject was also closely related to the lessons that the teachers had reviewed. Chemistry was also at a moderate level but highly differentiated. In my opinion, if students studied at a good level, they could all do the combined exam and getting a score of 8 or 9 is not difficult.

Similarly, students in advantaged areas were also quite excited about their test results.
Candidate Nguyen Thi Thao Trang, Anh Son Secondary School said: “The combined test requires candidates to have comprehensive knowledge of 3 subjects, which means the amount of knowledge to review is also more, but I find this type of test easy to score. We have been familiar with it and practiced thoroughly, so we are not surprised. This year's combined test is also within the range, students with average academic ability can get 3/4 points if they review well. I did very well on the History questions”...

Candidate Nguyen Thi Linh, Doi Cung Secondary School shared: She completed 3 exams with about 85% score. Photo: Le Ngoc |
With 90 minutes and 3 subjects, some candidates were mentally stressed. However, thanks to careful review, most of the candidates finished the test.
Nguyen Thi Linh, Doi Cung Secondary School, excitedly said: “I have completed 3 exams with about 85% score. English and Chemistry are more difficult, but Chemistry has one very difficult question. I can do all the History questions. I am not afraid of the Math exam tomorrow, because this is my "favorite subject".
Truong Thi Nhat Linh, a candidate at Thai Hoa High School, said: “Today’s exam was not too difficult, not too long, and did not challenge students. I did very well in all three subjects in the group. I got 80% in History, 70% in Chemistry, and 80% in English. However, doing three exams in a row made me a bit tired. The English exam alone can classify students. Those who are average in English can get 6-7 points. Those who are good at English can easily get 8 points.”

For candidates in mountainous and particularly difficult areas, the combined subject exam is considered quite difficult.
Candidate Bui Thi Binh, Ha Son Secondary School, Quy Hop District said: “The combined exam was quite difficult for us. I am confident that I would get 3-4 points in English. Overall, I could only get 5-6 points for all 3 subjects in the combined exam”... Similarly, candidate Luong Y May, Hanh Thiet Secondary School, Quy Chau District said: “I feel that the 3 combined subjects today are quite difficult, especially Chemistry, even those who are good at this subject say so. However, in return, History has not too much knowledge, and is very easy to remember, so I did well. English is not too difficult for me, but most of the average students do not do well.”
