(Baonghean.vn) - Despite the danger and the scorching sun, two men hung themselves on a steep cliff to try to get the beehive.

On June 8, in the limestone mountain area of block 4 - Con Cuong town, two men appeared to be making a beehive on the vertical cliff, causing many curious people to come and watch. The incident lasted for more than 2 hours, causing this road to be partially blocked.

It is known that the two men climbing precariously on the steep cliff are two brothers Ha Van Tuyen (51 years old) and Vi Van Chung (48 years old), residing in Khe Ran village, Bong Khe commune (Con Cuong).

Mr. Ha Van Tuyen said: After determining the location of 3 honey bee nests on the rocky mountain, they climbed up the cliffs to reach the top of the mountain, then lowered a rope ladder made of iron, Mr. Chung on the lower level found a large rock to tie the ladder.

Once they felt confident, the two climbed up the rope ladder and hovered over the cliff, using poles to scoop up the beehives. Based on the height and distance of the beehives, they used the rope ladder to move up and down the cliff face.

To avoid being stung by bees, Mr. Chung and Mr. Tuyen wore protective clothing that covered their limbs and faces, then burned incense to make the bees fly away from the nest, then used their hands to break off pieces of honey and put them in bags to bring home.

Faced with the above situation, in order to ensure the safety of honey collectors, as well as to ensure traffic order and safety, the Con Cuong town government sent officers out to call out via loudspeakers, asking honey collectors to stop and find a way to lower their height, but the two workers continued to try to collect the remaining beehive.

During the wild honey hunting season, on average, workers collect 2-3 honeycombs each day, equivalent to 25 to 30 bottles. Traders often come to buy wholesale at a price of 200,000-250,000 VND/bottle (650-700ml). But the current market price is very high, from 300-400 thousand VND, on average, honey workers can earn about 6 million VND/day. However, many people have lost their lives climbing high mountains to hunt wild honey.
