In terms of the balance of power before entering the tournament, TN Dien Chau was considered stronger than TN Nam Dan when possessing a team of players with good physique, technique, agility and often competing with strong opponents. In the second half, TN Nam Dan's striker wearing the number 10 shirt, Tran Van Hieu, was injured and had to leave the field. From here, the game changed direction. TN Dien Chau organized sharp and effective attacks, scoring 3 goals in a row thanks to Tran Van Thang Dat, Dinh Duc Nhan and an own goal by TN Nam Dan defender.
TN Nam Dan had a chance to shorten the score with a penalty kick but TN Dien Chau's goalkeeper made an excellent save.
With a 3-0 victory, TN Dien Chau has one foot in the quarter-finals. If they lose, TN Nam Dan will meet TN Que Phong in the second round of group D.
